This article is a historical analysis - through dynamic formation, organization and symbolization of Brazilian territory - the importance that space had to build the "sense formation" of Brazil, evoked from the earliest fables about it until today, both the physical point of view, the concreteness of spatial materiality as symbolization as a process of representation of the collective identity of the Brazilian nation. For that utilizes the relationship between historical geography and the Brazilian Social Thought to treat the national training process.
