Abstract

The present text pretends to show how necessary it becomes to study the experience of children, their conceptions and their images, in order to understand the different social phenomena that affect them. The great social changes that have been happening again and again in the family, especially in the last decades, brought to the author the need to understand the social importance of childhood at home, analyzed from what children say. Starting from the childhood sociology assumptions, it was considered that children are competent social performers, and as such should be taken into account in the process of knowledge production of their world. This article aims to show the representations of a group of children in the kindergarten about the place they have as children, within their families.
