Resumen

CHARREU, Leonardo. Art, Childhood and Cultural Pedagogy. Invest. Práticas [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.1, pp.47-55. ISSN 2182-1372.  https://doi.org/10.25757/invep.v9i1.167.

In this essayistic article, we contrast to a concept of "sweetened" childhood handled and criticized by recent authors, another approach to childhood from contemporary cultural and artistic premises, as well as from images that are (re) interpreted continuously in our daily media, taking into account a series of controversial visual art artifacts that under analysis. In these works, childhood has emerged lately with force and impact and with an intensity that we had not known for a long time. We then enter into the field of so-called cultural pedagogies that we can define as those that allow an escape from the academic institutional discourse. More than that, they allow us to empower educational practices with energy of lived things and to elaborate other discourses for childhood, and for the complex contexts in which it moves today, whether from the images of this martyred childhood in any city of Syria, whether from that African or Asian childhood, half-slave, so diligently expressed by some contemporary visual artists in their manifestations of street art.
