Resumen

PAIVA, Ana Carine dos Santos de Sousa; ARAUJO, Janice Débora de Alencar Batista  y  CRUZ, Silvia Helena Vieira. The carring out of conversations during "circle time" in classes of Early Childhood Education. Invest. Práticas [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.2, pp.73-88. ISSN 2182-1372.  https://doi.org/10.25757/invep.v9i2.166.

This paper is a summary of two researches (Araújo, 2017; Paiva, 2016) on conversation circles during “circle time” in Early Childhood Education. The main objective is to describe and analyze how this activity has happened in daycare and preschool classes in two Early Childhood Education Centers of the municipal public network of Fortaleza (Ceará, Brazil). The theoretical basis is constituted by contributions of Vygotsky (2008) and Wallon (2007, 2008) on the importance of interactions and language in the construction of children's thinking and development; and Rinaldi (2017), Oliveira-Formosinho (2007) and Oliveira-Formosinho and Araújo (2013) on Early Childhood Education as a space for interaction, listening and participation of children. For the data production, were carried out observations and interviews with a day care educator and a preschool teacher. The research was submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Ceará and it contemplated all the ethical requirements for the participation of children and educators. The results indicate the need for initial and continuing formation that provides teachers with reflections that enhance the participation and interactions of children, both at the “circle time” activities as at other moments of the routine in Early Childhood institutions.
