This work is a reflection on the Portuguese language in Mozambique. Apart from Portuguese, which is the only official language, the country has many other languages. Because of the contact between Portuguese and these languages, especially those of the Bantu linguistic group, Portuguese spoken in the country is creating its identity marks. The objective of this study is to identify the main areas of influence of Bantu languages on Portuguese, through the use of the bibliographic method. From the research, it was concluded that there is a mutual influence between Portuguese and the languages of the Bantu linguistic group. Thus, the neologisms and the loans are an identity mark of the Portuguese of Mozambique. In addition, there are influences of Bantu languages on Portuguese at the phonetic, phonological and lexical levels.
