Abstract
VELASCO, Marcelino Horácio and TIMBANE, Alexandre António. O processo de ensino-aprendizagem do português no contexto multicultural moçambicano. RILP [online]. 2017, vol.32, pp.97-118. Epub July 28, 2021. ISSN 2182-4452. https://doi.org/10.31492/2184-2043.rilp2017.32/pp.99-120.
The school failure of students from suburban and rural areas is at the center of the restlessness of this work, motivated by the historical imposition of Portuguese as the official and teaching language in Mozambique, as well as the lack of appreciation and practice of the national languages of Bantu origin in an essentially multilingual and multicultural country. The goal was to identify the possible causes that lead students to school failure. In methodological terms, the bibliographic review and the Constitution of the Republic of Mozambique constituted the basis of support for this work. We conclude that literature in these languages must be created and disseminated. In addition, literacy in these languages should be a mandatory social practice in order to reduce linguistics prejudice. In this way, students could produce texts related to their social life.
