Breastfeeding is the baby’s first food and the first form of contact with the mother, family, and society. Objective: to describe actions to promote breastfeeding developed in the current scenario of social distancing. Methodology: This is an experience report of the actions carried out by an extension project during the period of social distancing caused by the Coronavirus. Results: A total of 71 posts on relevant topics involved with breastfeeding were produced and a total of 734 followers were obtained on the project’s Instagram profile with a reach of around 1,191 people. Discussion: The importance of safe information about the practice of breastfeeding is emphasized, and the importance of trained professionals to increase the prevalence of breastfeeding is believed. Conclusion: even facing the challenges of the pandemic, the project managed to reach society beyond the walls of the university, and achieved its goal of promoting and protecting breastfeeding based on scientific information.
