LUABO, Arcénio Olíndio Luís. Campanha Eleitoral em Moçambique: A cobertura jornalística da STV. RILP [online]. 2023, vol.43, pp.119-138.  Epub 22-Maio-2023. ISSN 2182-4452.  https://doi.org/10.31492/2184-2043.rilp2023.43/pp.119-138.

We examined the journalistic coverage of the 2019 electoral campaign in Mozambique, based on the television journalism of Soico Televisão (STV). 15 videos from Diário de Campanha, in Jornal da STV, are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, corresponding to 30% of the programming in the period of 45 days. It is intended, with this, to understand the time reserved for the coverage of the four candidates for President of the Republic of Mozambique and the parties that supported them, as well as to evaluate the coverage, considering the principles of equality and justice, as advocated by the Mozambican electoral law. The analysis found that these principles are not respected. Crossing qualitative and quantitative data with the results of the elections, it is evident that those with the longest media coverage won the elections. It is suggested that the process of media coverage should be supervised in order to comply with the rules established for electoral periods in Mozambique.
