Abstract

SOUSA, Sara; SOUSA, Alexandra  and  DIAS, Marta Bastos. Assessment of Customer Satisfaction in a Private Hospital in Relation to Food. Nutrícias [online]. 2012, n.15, pp.40-43. ISSN 2182-7230.

Private hospitals are expected to provide clients with proper organoleptic nutrition without neglecting the basics of neither nutrition nor its disease-related specifics. The diet of a client goes beyond the clinical role of feeding, it is also very important to be well assessed by clients, establishing a differentiation factor among services. As such, nutritional therapy and nutrition become essential areas and a great influence to clients, as well as cooperating in the physical and psychological well-being. The aim of this study focuses on client’ satisfaction admitted on a private hospital in Porto. The sample used for this study is composed of clients on clinical discharge from general medicine and gynecology/obstetrics during a definite period of time. The client’s satisfaction was assessed on the nutrition service’s (SNA) survey of the hospital. The overall results were very satisfactory, revealing however that the cooking quality and meal schedule can be improved in order to meet clients’ expectations. No statistically major differences surfaced regarding age and diet types.
