Resumen

FIRMINO, Cristiana Furtado et al. Nursing Students’ Learning in the Prevention of Musculoskeletal Symptomatology According to the Three Domains of Competence: A Qualitative Study. Sisyphus [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.2, pp.208-222.  Epub 25-Jul-2023. ISSN 2182-8474.  https://doi.org/10.25749/sis.28507.

The Nursing profession is composed of various domains of knowledge necessary for a comprehensive care of the person throughout his/her life cycle. During the course, nursing students are often exposed to factors that can contribute to the appearance of musculoskeletal symptoms, compromising their academic career. A qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory study was conducted using a focus group of six final-year nursing students. The aim was to understand their perceptions of the pedagogical training and how it contributed to their learning in the prevention of musculoskeletal symptoms. Content analysis was performed according to Bardin (2018). The personal skills domain emerged as the most valued domain, with 15 registration units, followed by the pedagogical domain with 9 registration units, and, finally, the scientific domain with 5 registration units. Pedagogical training was considered by students as crucial for their personal and academic investment.
