This paper aims to highlight the legal support that was created by the king and the Senate, from the fifteenth century to the eighteenth century, in order to prevent actions which could contribute to the degradation of the health of the city of Lisbon, enacting the necessary legislation and creating the appropriate oversight for a deterrent effect
