Abstract

In the eighteenth century, Junqueira, near the Tagus river, was a place desired by Lisbon's aristocracy who was searching for suburban villas to spend the Summer. The outcrops allowed the wealhty residents to build noble houses in baroque style. The Quinta das Águias palace was built in this context. It was an important building, with great architectural, artistic and historical value, classified as a cultural heritage building. This article aims to reveal stories, experiences and memories of this century-old house in the heart of Lisbon, as well as its inhabitants and, at the same time, to contribute to the preservation and the rehabilitation of Lisbon's cultural and historic heritage.
