Abstract

SILVA, Hélia  and  LOURENCO, Tiago Borges. From paper to material: the importance of the construction specification books for the architecture study - five works of Raul Lino. Cadernos do Arquivo Municipal [online]. 2022, vol.ser2, n.17, pp.27-51.  Epub June 01, 2022. ISSN 2183-3176.  https://doi.org/10.48751/cam-7a2m-sc18.

The study of a building’s architecture usually neglects the analysis of its construction specification book. Nevertheless, it is an essential document to perceive the visions and concerns of the architect as well as the application of the materials.

Giving as example the construction specifications books of five works from an early stage of Raul Lino’s career, this article aims to open a new field of the investigation of the architectural work as it demonstrates the value of these documents for the architecture study.
