Com base na documentação conservada no Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa, analisa-se, para o período compreendido entre 1732 e 1770, a forma como a produção normativa moldou e estruturou a atividade dos oficiais do ofício de livreiro, com enfoque nas práticas de vindicar, certificar e fiscalizar, geradas por quem detinha a tutela ou era tutelado pelo dispositivo de teor regulamentar sustentado pelo aparelho administrativo camarário.

Based on the documentation preserved in the Lisbon Municipal Archive, we analyse, for the period between 1732 and 1770, the way in which the normative production shaped and structured the activity of the officials in the bookbinders’ and the booksellers’ trade, focusing on the practices of vindication, certification and supervision generated by those who had the tutelage or were tutored by the regulatory device supported by the municipal administrative structure.
