This article presents preliminary results of an ongoing investigation into sentences of moral damages lawsuits against journalists and newspaper companies in Santa Catarina between 2009 and 2017. In contrast, those in which the defendants were convicted (44.1%), triggered recurrently rights to privacy, honor and image.
