Abstract

MEDITSCH, Eduardo  and  GUERREIRO NETO, Guilherme. The impact of Nelson Traquina’s work in Brazilian Journalism Studies: a synchronic and diachronic study from the annals of national scientific events. Media & Jornalismo [online]. 2020, vol.20, n.37, pp.29-44. ISSN 1645-5681.  https://doi.org/10.14195/2183-5462_37_2.

This article analyzes the impact of Nelson Traquina’s work in the Journalism Studies carried out in Brazil, based on bibliometric studies in works presented in congresses of Journalism and Communication in the country. To do so, it retrieves results from previously published studies and presents new data, produced especially for this paper, related to works presented at events in 2019, in a synchronic research, and over two decades (2000-2019), in a diachronic perspective. From the joint analysis of these data, it concludes that Nelson Traquina, throughout this period, was an author with high impact on Brazilian research in Journalism., More recently, the impact of his authorial work has become more significant than the observed in his work as a disseminator, for the Portuguese Language, of the international literature of Journalism Studies. Compared to the congresses that bring together researchers with graduate and undergraduate level held in 2019 in Brazil, the impact of Traquina’s work is greater in graduate research.
