Abstract

PROENCA, Rosa; VAZ, Henrique  and  PAIS, Sofia. The role of continuing professional training in the process of humanization of the hospital environment. Revista Onconews [online]. 2021, n.42, pp.30-37.  Epub June 15, 2021. ISSN 1646-7868.  https://doi.org/10.31877/on.2021.42.04.

This article brings to the discussion the role that continuous professional training can have in the humanization of the hospital. At a time when (also) health institutions are being based on productivity indicators and quality standards, with new technologies gaining space and dominance, the need to humanize health services has been widely discussed and even claimed, with the rulers themselves to recognize that there is important work to be done in this sense. In this paradigm, and considering the basic principles of continuing professional training, it is legitimate to question the role that it can have as a process of humanization in a differentiated context such as hospital.

The data found in this study conducted in a hospital point precisely to the need for the continuous training of hospitals focusing more on its interactive and reflective side, conditions that bring it closer to the principles of humanization.
