Clinical trials with approved scientific methods aim at understand and verify the effects of therapies while always ensuring the safety of participating voluntaries. All clinical trials are regulated by International and National laws that evolve with relevant scientific and knowledge developments.

To ensure trials feasibility a multidisciplinary team is required, involving nurses in multiple process stages. The team is responsible to ensure that participants rights and well-being are safeguarded and that all information produced is accurate, verifiable and thus replicable.

Oncology is a fast-evolving area with clinical trials fulfilling an essential role to evaluate new methods of diagnosis, treatment and surveillance and the safety and efficacy of new pharmaceutical drugs.
