Abstract

With this article, it is intended to present the care to the person submitted to the administration of iodine131, as complementary therapy in thyroid tumors.

This treatment has a major role in the destruction of malignant cells that may remain after surgery, in differentiated thyroid cancers.

Due to the need for specific care that can be fundamental for the success of the treatment, the nurse has a fundamental role here in preparing the person for the same.

The nursing intervention extends to the entire treatment process and the period following it, when there is a need to maintain specific and fundamental care for the person's recovery.
