PONTE, Sandra; MATOS, Leonor Vasconcelos de; TEIXEIRA, Sara  y  NUNES, Sónia. PATIENT-REPORTED OUTCOMES (PRO’S) INTEGRATION IN ONCOLOGY NURSING CONSULTATION: iQualMyVida pilot project. Revista Onconews [online]. 2022, n.44, pp.18-24.  Epub 04-Jul-2022. ISSN 1646-7868.  https://doi.org/10.31877/on.2022.44.03.

A cancer diagnosis may bring multiple symptoms amenable to deeply affect quality of life (QoL). Systematic monitoring of patient-reported outcomes (PRO’s) allows to evaluate symptoms, to understand the patient’s perception about the impact of the disease and its treatments and to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented interventions. All these are essential steps to ensure that quality care adapted to patients’ needs and preferences is provided. This pilot project intends to evaluate the feasibility and impact of PRO’s collection by the Oncology Nursing team in a Medical Oncology Unit, using an Hospital App. The utilization of web-based instruments tools allows for automatic and real-time data collection and analysis, consenting the design of integrated models of care that are adapted and reactive to patient’s needs, therefore placing the patient as an active intervenient in the decision-making process throughout the disease trajectory.
