Abstract

FINKELSTEIN, Cláudio. ARBITRATION IN BRAZIL: HISTORIC EVOLUTION. Revista Internacional CONSINTER de Direito [online]. 2020, n.10, pp.427-444.  Epub June 30, 2020. ISSN 2183-6396.  https://doi.org/10.19135/revista.consinter.00010.21.

Arbitration as an institution has existed in Brazil since the Colonial Age. However, it was only with the enactment of the Brazilian Arbitration Act 1996 and with the recognition of the constitutionality of arbitration by the STF, between 1996 and 2002, that its use was consolidated in the country. Nowadays, Brazil is widely recognized as an arbitration friendly functioning jurisdiction.
