Abstract

This article deals with the creation of sensorial books in an interdisciplinary perspective between Visual Arts and Mathematics. We analyze six books that intend to explore the tactile experience, conceived by artists and educators who attended the Curricular Unit Art and Mathematics of the master in artistic education. This study discusses the results of a work proposal that included the design of a sensorial book and its educational mediation strategy.

Theoretical support mobilized authors such as Dewey, Maria Montessory, Bruno Munari, Ana Margarida Ramos, Johanna Drucker, Amaranth Borsuk and Elliot Eisner. At the end, conclusions are presented around the potential of creating these sensorial books and their various mediation possibilities.
