The COVID-19 pandemic has affected millions of people of all ages in the world. Knowledge about the disease is scarce and especially in children there are still many uncertainties. The purpose of this review is to provide some understanding about the differences in clinical presentation and prognosis between children and adults, the importance of the pediatric population in the tranmission of the virus and the possible protective BCG factor. The association between the recent increasing number of cases of multisystemic inflammatory syndrome and SARS-CoV-2 is also analyzed.
