Abstract

BARROS, Carolina Vasconcelos et al. Spontaneous Pneumomediastinum: A Complication of a Football Match. Gaz Med [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.3, pp.201-204.  Epub Oct 01, 2021. ISSN 2183-8135.  https://doi.org/10.29315/gm.v1i1.454.

Spontaneous pneumomediastinum is a self-limiting entity whose triggering factor is not always identifiable. This entity should be considered in the differential diagnosis of sudden chest pain, especially in the young male with longitudinal morphology. Its diagnosis is determined by clinical suspicion and is established on imaging tests. The prognosis is mostly benign, and the treatment is essentially based on conservative measures.
