Abstract

Background:
the treatment of breast cancer brings with it aggressive and invasive therapies, with consequences at the physical and psychological level that affect the woman's life and the experience of her sexuality.
Objectives:
to map the contribution of integrative therapies to the sexuality of women with breast cancer.
Methodology:
the Scoping Review was developed following the recommendations of the PRISMA extension. The search strategy included the following databases: CINAHL Complete; MEDLINE Complete; Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive; Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials; Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews; Cochrane Methodology Register; Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts; MedicLatina, via EBSCOhost - Research Databases, Google Scholar, PubMed, B-On, LILACS, MEDLINE and SCIELO. Including only articles dated between January 1999 and March 2020. For this review, were selected five scientific articles.
Results:
the analyzed studies are unanimous: showing that the demand and use of integrative therapies by mastectomized women with breast cancer have positive effects on the mental health of these women.
Conclusion:
Integrative therapies promote in women, through the harmony of their own resources, physical/mental/emotional self-balance, bringing positive effects in the experience of their sexuality.
