Abstract

BUENO, Maria Angélica de Moura  and  CESAR, Maria Rita de Assis. Communication with higher education students in Brazil in a pandemic situation. NTQR [online]. 2022, vol.12, e634.  Epub Aug 25, 2022. ISSN 2184-7770.  https://doi.org/10.36367/ntqr.12.2022.e634.

This article explores the qualitative experience in a public university in the south of Brazil through the implementation of an extension project in the Dean of Student Assistance with the identification of psychosocial indicators of higher education students in Brazil and related interventions. During the world pandemic situation, we aimed to describe the experience with incoming students, called IN, in the community space as a qualitative methodology of communication to strengthen the public higher education student in the institutional territory. Emphasis is given to the Territory conceived as strengthening student subjectivity and building institutional academic actions. The communication methodology followed the realization of IN group workshops in an online/virtual way by the systematization of sending Invitations to INgress students through the Teams application (office 365) with explanations about the objective, methodology and target audience. The IN Workshops have been taking place since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, obtaining active participation results in 2021. The return of filling in the Form was obtained with 491 participants and with 67 students in the weekly IN Workshops. The conclusions point to the favoring of communication between the INgressing students in moments of exchanges in the construction of ideas about presence at the university by the forms delivered virtually and by the participation in virtual IN meetings. Likewise, the creation of the institutional e-mail in@ufpr.br and account on the social network Instagram @in. ufpr is related as fundamental channels of communication in weekly publications of dissemination, objectives and invitation to online workshops. This article, therefore, explores the dimension of student social-emotional communication in minimizing university dropout and permanence, especially for vulnerable social groups, aiming to guarantee institutional responsibility.
