OLIVEIRA, Paulo de Tarso; VIDAL, Maria Eunice Barbosa; TEIXEIRA, Bruna Maria Ribeiro  e  MENEZES, Thaís dos Santos. In Search of Interdisciplinarity in Pedagogical Projects of Undergraduate Courses: A Regional Study. NTQR [online]. 2022, vol.12, e602.  Epub 25-Ago-2022. ISSN 2184-7770.  https://doi.org/10.36367/ntqr.12.2022.e602.

The basic question occurs in the context of how the need for an interdisciplinary experience - an increasingly strong expectation for the university world - is conceived and proposed in the pedagogical projects of undergraduate higher education. The choice is justified by the need to understand this demand as a challenge and confrontation by university institutions. It aims to broaden the understanding of the institutional path of interdisciplinarity in the Curricular Guidelines until its concreteness in academic practices. It seeks to describe and interpret aspects of the concepts of interdisciplinarity and the proposals for its implementation, contained in pedagogical projects of undergraduate courses. The methodology involved the construction of a theoretical framework consisting of bibliographic reviews, containing the thoughts of authors more dedicated to these studies, more specifically the interdisciplinarity-higher education relationship. Empirical data were collected in 142 Pedagogical Projects of higher education courses, available on websites of university institutions located in a delimited region, consisting of part of the State of São Paulo (Northeast Paulista) and part of the State of Minas Gerais (Triângulo Mineiro), in Brazil. . The collected data were distributed and presented by geographic regions; knowledge area (Humanities, Exact and Technological Sciences, Biological and Health Sciences); and types of graduation (Bachelor's, Licentiate, Technologists Formation). The results were considered in two categories of analysis: (i) conceptions of interdisciplinarity: observing, in the interdisciplinarity narrative, a gap between the idea of the interdisciplinary and its effective practice; (ii) personal and institutional protagonism for the implementation of interdisciplinarity: few clear and objective predictions were observed regarding the role of people and institutions to increase interdisciplinarity in the courses. In conclusion, it can be said that, within the restricted scope of the data, the intention to promote interdisciplinarity in the courses is patent and general, but there is still little understanding of strategies and involvement to make it a reality.
