Abstract

LORENZO-SANCHEZ, Oscar et al. Profiles and leisure preferences of the students of the University of Salamanca. NTQR [online]. 2022, vol.12, e659.  Epub Aug 25, 2022. ISSN 2184-7770.  https://doi.org/10.36367/ntqr.12.2022.e659.

The research to be presented has been carried out in the context of a Teaching Innovation and Improvement Project for the academic year 2021/2022, called "Healthy leisure for students of the university population". The study is framed in the University of Salamanca and is aimed at the integration and development of the Sustainable Development Goals, responding to the research question: What profiles of leisure and free time does and demand the youth population of the University of Salamanca? A content analysis design has been used, with the creation of a category table in a mixed way, inductively and deductively, and an open response questionnaire. The results indicate that the main facilities of the Universiade de Salamanca that the students use for their leisure and free time are the sports center and the gymnasium, and the auditorium the least. Among the leisure and free time activities most practiced by students, team sports stand out, with paddle tennis being the most reported. As improvements to the offer of leisure and free time activities of the University of Salamanca, it was observed that trips and excursions should be increased, together with social activities of coexistence, due to the large reduction in the capacity to carry out group activities and with same. The use of a qualitative methodology has made it possible to delve into the analysis of preferences in leisure and free time of the students of the University of Salamanca in an efficient way.
