Abstract

BARRETO, Marcel; SOUZA, Dayse Neri de  and  HEES, Luciane. Perception of Managers on the Implementation Manual of Distance Education Poles. NTQR [online]. 2023, vol.17, e862.  Epub Dec 01, 2023. ISSN 2184-7770.  https://doi.org/10.36367/ntqr.17.2023.e862.

The Distance Education (EaD) model as a teaching-learning method, implemented in Brazil after the approval of the MEC, as provided for in Art. 80 of Law 9.394/96 (LDB), enabled millions of people to complete their studies and build careers, in which each individual could study according to the availability of time and schedule. EaD Poles were implemented in educational institutions to serve as headquarters for courses in various areas of knowledge. The objective is to perceive the opinion of the managers/coordinators about the Manual for the Implementation of EaD Poles. Qualitative research with the application and analysis of the open questions of the questionnaire. The qualitative data analysis was carried out with the support of the webQDA software. Through the questionnaire, it was possible to draw a brief profile of the respondents, as well as to know their familiarity with the research theme, whose research was carried out in order to know if the Support Manual developed to guide the implementation of the EaD Pole was sufficient as a tool to support managers. Thus, the main conclusions of the study lie in the fact that most managers affirm that the Manual is an effective support instrument, which fits the EaD standards of the promoting institution, that it is necessary to train the professionals of the poles, through training and improvement of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), which is clear, but needs improvement due to the difficulties of some managers in complying with their instructions and, finally, the lack of access to the Manual itself. The survey helped to reveal the managers' perception of the Manual and how much still needs to be done so that it is accessible to managers as a contribution to the implementation of EaD in the poles, as well as being read and followed as important instructions.
