Abstract

GENONADIO, Ananda  and  VERAS, Renata Meira. Maping of the Social Assistance and Health Network for Pop Rua Service in Salvador (BA). NTQR [online]. 2023, vol.18, e841.  Epub Nov 30, 2023. ISSN 2184-7770.  https://doi.org/10.36367/ntqr.18.1023.e841.

Framework: As a reflection of economic and social inequality in Brazil, the number of homeless people is increasing every day. The lives of these people have been marked by repeated violations of rights. Therefore, the State has a decisive role in the management of public policies. This study is justified based on the importance of the visibility of the theme and the social commitment of the academy with vulnerable populations. Research Question/ Goals: From the research question: “What are the health and social assistance services that POP RUA serves in Salvador?” this study aims to map and qualitatively identify the services of the health and social assistance network destined to POP RUA in Salvador - BA. Methods: The methodology used in this study was exploratory with a qualitative nature, divided into two moments. Initially, 3 public documents were used as a starting point. Next, searches were carried out on government websites and analysis of new documents and news about the subject studied. Chapter organization: The documents, ordinances and news found on the sites were analyzed, compiled and organized from an analysis matrix created based on the levels of complexity of SUAS and SUS. Altogether, 5 types of specific services for POP RUA were located and analyzed. Final Considerations: It appears that in Brazil there has been progress in the enactment of laws to guarantee rights for POP RUA. However, aspects still need to be improved so that there is a better effectiveness of the policy in practice and, thus, the guarantee of the rights of this population. In addition, it is suggested that more studies be carried out in this area and that there may be more investigations about the applicability of policies in the reality of cities.
