The investigation; it has to do with the expectation and lifestyle of the Peruvian population; which according to official data has changed in recent years; in 1970, it was 53 years old; in 2004, 70 years old and it is estimated that he will reach 75 years in 2025; that is to say, there would be more adult population; On the other hand, in 2016, a study was carried out on the characterization of the lifestyle of the elderly in the community of Huancas; finding that the lifestyles in the biological and social dimensions are healthy but not in the psychological dimension; reason for which this research was carried out, which had as Objectives: Understand the phenomenon of feeling good about themselves and with the life that older people have and determine the psychological dimension of their lifestyles. Methods: Qualitative research with a phenomenological and quantitative descriptive cross-sectional approach; The population was 25 older adults who met the inclusion criteria and to whom the modified Likert Scale form on lifestyles in its psychological dimension and an in-depth interview were applied. Results: In the phenomenological analysis, the following categories were found: 1) They feel grateful, content, happy and joyful. 2) With mixed feelings between calm & worried and 3) God is the essence of his life. In the quantitative results: 72.00% of older adults have a healthy psychological dimension, compared to 28.00% that is not healthy. Conclusions: the elderly people of the "16 de Octubre" community are "sometimes with mixed feelings, however, God is the beginning and end of their lives"; They also have healthy lifestyles in the psychological dimension.
