A Revista de Enfermagem Referência nasceu em Janeiro de 1998, pelo que celebramos em 2013 o seu 15º aniversário. Em Portugal são poucas as Revistas Científicas Peer-reviewed de divulgação internacional, particularmente no campo específico da enfermagem e ciências afins.

Em 2014 iniciamos o nº1 da IV Série, com algumas novidades que implicam um esforço de todos os que solidariamente participam no processo de revisão cega.

A primeira alteração tem a ver com as normas, que agora seguirão a última edição da APA. A segunda alteração de interesse particular para os autores, refere-se a uma nova estrutura para: checklist geral; termo único ético legal; e guiões específicos para estruturar os artigos originais (investigação, revisão integrativa, revisão sistemática, teórico/ensaio, história e memória). Os guiões a ser utilizados pelos revisores terão uma melhor estrutura, no sentido de facilitar a consistência da avaliação e um maior índice de acordo entre autores.

A Revista tem agora uma maior visibilidade internacional, através Cantárida/Cuiden, CINAHL, Latindex e SciELO Portugal. Muito recentemente foi incorporada em SciELO Citation Index, Web of Knowledge, Thomson Reuters, o que permite a pesquisa em texto integral num meio que interage com um grande universo de boas revistas científicas. Deste modo, a originalidade dos artigos científicos e o rigoroso controlo de qualidade do processo de revisão, continuarão a ser um objetivo de todos, (autores, editor, revisores, técnicos, leitores). Uma das exigências passará pela necessidade de traduzir o artigo completo em língua inglesa, por peritos oficiais de tradução. Este fator determinará encargos para os autores que desejarem publicar os seus artigos mas também garante uma maior disseminação dos seus trabalhos.

De acordo com o princípio de que as boas revistas científicas “não nascem nas árvores”, pelo contrário implicam muito empenho e ajustamento contínuo, continuaremos a fazer o melhor, identificando as fraquezas e estando em linha com as oportunidades, para que a Revista de Enfermagem Referência continue no seu processo de melhoria contínua, e esteja acessível e útil a qualquer leitor, em qualquer parte do mundo.

 

Incentivamos a que pesquisem a Revista, extraiam documentos em texto integral e utilizem a informação, para que o seu impacto cresça e sirva os objetivos de todos.

The Journal of Nursing Referência was created in January 1998, therefore 2013 is the year we celebrate its 15th anniversary. There are few peer-reviewed scientific journals of international dissemination in Portugal, particularly in the specific field of nursing and its related sciences.

We are publishing the 1st volume of the 4th Series in 2014. This new series is introducing new features which will require an effort from all who participate in the blind peer-review process.

The first change regards the norms, which will now comply with the last edition of the APA. The second change, which holds a particular interest for the authors, is the new structure: a general checklist; a single statement (ethical-legal, responsibility and conflict of interests); and specific guidelines to structure original papers (research, integrative review, systematic review, theoretical/essay, history and memory). Reviewers will use better structured guidelines which will provide consistency to the assessment and greater cohesion between authors.

The Journal has now greater international visibility through the Cantárida/Cuiden, CINAHL, Latindex and SciELO Portugal. It was very recently integrated into the SciELO Citation Index, the Web of Knowledge, and the Thomson Reuters, which allows for full-text search in a context which interacts in a large universe of good scientific journals. Therefore, the originality of scientific papers and the rigorous control of the quality of the review process will continue to be a priority for all (authors, editor, reviewers, technicians, readers). One of the requirements will be the translation of the full paper into English by official translation experts. This will represent an additional cost for authors who wish to see their papers published, but it will also ensure a greater dissemination of their work.

According to the principle that good scientific journals “do not grow on trees”, but rather require a lot of commitment and continuous adjustment, we will continue to do our best, by identifying the weaknesses and taking advantage of the opportunities so that the Journal of Nursing Referência carries on its permanent improvement process and is available and useful to every reader in any part of the world.

 

We encourage everyone to search the Journal, extract full-text documents and use the information so that its impact increases and fits everyone’s objectives.
