Gastrobandoplastia por via laparoscópica: follow up de 24 meses

RESUMO: Neste artigo examinamos o estado psicossocial de indivíduos obesos antes e depois de uma cirurgia bariátrica com as Swedish e Lap Band, Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (LAGB). As conclusões apresentadas são relativas a uma avaliação longitudinal de 24 meses, adicionadas a uma revisão da literatura e à experiência do programa de cirurgia bariátrica do Hospital Central do Funchal (Serviço de Cirurgia 2). Os dados indicam que as condições pós-operatórias dos participantes, avaliadas através do questionário BAROS, denotam uma significativa redução do peso, bem como a melhoria da qualidade de vida e de comorbilidades.

Laparoscopic adjustable gastric band: follow up at 24 months

ABSTRACT: This article examines the psychosocial status of obese individuals before and after Swedish and Lap Band, Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (LAGB). The conclusions presented come from a 24 month longitudinal evaluation, as well as a review of the literature and from experiences of our bariatric surgery program at the Central Hospital of Funchal (Serviço de Cirurgia 2). Our data suggest that the post-operative participants life conditions, evaluated under BAROS scoring significantly improved in weight, in quality of life and in comorbidities.
