Métodos:  transversal, correlacional, realizado no Paraná- Brasil com 135 estudantes universitários. Foi aplicado o questionário de auto avaliação para Ansiedade (IDATE) e o Inventario de Estratégias de Coping. As Análises foram feitas pelo programa SPSS, versão 25, pelos testes de Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Kruskal-Wallis, Jonckheere-Terpstra e correlação de Spearman, em nível &#945;&lt;0,05.  Resultados:  IDATE Traço: O Domínio 1 refere-se ao &#8220;confronto&#8221; e apresenta-se como uma estratégia bem utilizada ao longo das séries (r: 0,27). O domínio D5, &#8220;Fuga- Esquiva&#8221;, foi utilizado como meio de enfrentamento a determinadas situações (r:0,29). Ansiedade Traço-Estado: Houveram 66% dos graduandos de enfermagem com ansiedade e sintomas compatíveis com os transtornos de ansiedade no domínio denominado Traço (n=10) e 31,8% (n=43) dos alunos da 1ª série apresentaram sintomas compatíveis com a ansiedade, seguido de 26,6% (n=36) de alunos da 4ª série.  Conclusão:  as estratégias de coping foram utilizadas com menor frequência, denotando que quanto mais avança no decorrer das séries, menos os alunos as utilizam. Porém, o nível de ansiedade manteve-se alto. Esses achados, contribuiu para que sejam criados projetos, grupos de meditação, terapias e afins, com o intuito de ajudar os alunos a minimizarem o estresse enquanto estudante e praticarem a utilização do coping no cotidiano, além de proporcionar melhoria do ensino e melhor domínio do professor em relação ao aluno em situações de ansiedade.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective:  to estimate the prevalence of coping strategies used in situations of anxiety by nursing students in the four years of graduation.  Methods:  epidemiological quantitative, transversal type, carried out in Paraná-Brazil with 135 university students. The Anxiety Self-Assessment Questionnaire (IDATE) and the Coping Strategies Inventory were applied. The analyzes were performed using the SPSS program, version 2.5, using the Kruskal-Wallis, Jonckheere-Terpstra and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests and Spearman correlation, at a level of p &lt;0.05.  Results:  IDATE Trait: Domain 1 refers to the &#8220;confrontation&#8221; and presents itself as a well-used strategy throughout the series (r:0.27). The D5 domain, &#8220;Escape-Dodge&#8221;, was used as a means of coping with certain situations (r:0.29). TRAÇO Status: 66% of nursing students presented anxiety and symptoms compatible with anxiety disorders in the Trait e domain (n = 10). 31.8% (n = 43) of 1st grade students had symptoms compatible with anxiety, followed by 26.6% (n = 36) 4th grade students.  Conclusion:  coping strategies were used less frequently, showing that the higher the grade, the less students use them, but the level of anxiety remained high. These findings contributed to the creation of projects, meditation groups, therapies and the like, in order to help students minimize stress as a student and practice the use of coping in their daily lives, in addition to improving teaching and better mastery of teacher in relation to the student in situations of anxiety.]]></p></abstract>
