A reforma dos sistemas de saúde exige um reforço da regulação no sector. Os principais objectivos deste artigo são concretizar o que essas reformas implicam e perceber o que significa a regulação em saúde, em que contexto ela se torna impres cindível, que dimensões devem ser reguladas e que mecanismos reguladores existem em saúde.

De quoi parle-t-on quand on parle de régulation en santé?
La réforme des systèmes de santé exige un effort de régulation dans le secteur. Mettre en oeuvre les implications de ces réformes et comprendre ce que signifie la régulation en santé, dans quel contexte elle s’avère indispensable, quelles sont les dimensions à réguler et les mécanismes régulateurs (règles et systèmes d’encouragements) possibles en santé, constituent les principaux objectifs de cet article.
What do we mean when we speak of regulation in the health sphere?
Reform of health systems demands strengthening of legislation in the sector. The principle aims of this article are to understand the practical implications of such reforms and to comprehend what regulation means in the health sphere, in which contexts it becomes indispensable, which aspects should be regulated, and what regulatory mechanisms (rules and incentive systems) there are in the health sector.
