António Fernando Cascais*

A experimentação biomédica em seres humanos é o campo onde começou por se jogar a sorte da regulação paritária da actividade médico-científica, cuja irreversível crise constituirá, por sua vez, a condição maior de emergência da bioética contemporânea. Fruto e expressão dessa crise, cabe à bioética obviar às tentativas de ser reduzida, quer a uma simples deontologia médica, quer a uma moral teológica aplicada.

L’expérimentation humaine et la crise de l’autorégulation de la biomédecine

L’expérimentation biomédicale sur les êtres humains est le premier domaine sur lequel s’est joué le sort de la régulation paritaire de l’activité médico-scientifique, dont l’irréversible crise constituera, à son tour, la condition majeure de l’émergence de la bioéthique contemporaine. Parce qu’elle est le fruit et l’expression de cette crise, c’est à la bioéthique de parer aux tentatives d’être réduite, soit à une simple déontologie médicale, soit à une morale théologique appliquée.
