Os resultados, avaliados pelo coeficiente de determinação, erro padrão da estimativa e distribuição dos resíduos reduzidos, mostraram uma estimativa mais adequada pela utilização da função potência, sendo possível seleccionar dois parâmetros com um coeficiente de determinação superior a 95% para o conjunto das 12 cultivares.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[L’utilisation de différentes paramètres mesurés dans les feuilles pour estimer la surface foliaire a été évalué dans 12 cépages avec régressions effectués par la méthode des moindres rectangles, selon un modèle linéaire (Y =a + bX) et une fonction puissance (Y = aXc). Les résultats, évalués avec le coefficient de détermination, écart type et distribution des résidus réduits, ont montré que la fonction puissance était plus adapté pour cette estimation, étant possible de sélectionner deux paramètres avec un coefficient de détermination supérieur à 95%, pour l’ensemble des 12 cépages.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The use of different parameters of the leaves in order to estimate the leaf area was evaluated for 12 cultivars with regressions on the least rectangles method, according to a linear model (Y =a + bX) and to a power function (Y = aXc). The results, evaluated by the coefficients of determination, standard error of estimate and the distribution of the reduced residuals showed a more adequate estimation on account of the use of the power function. Enabling, thus, the selection of two parameters with a higher than 95% coefficient of determination for the whole of the 12 cultivars.]]></p></abstract>
