</abstract>

The main goal of the congress was to highlight current research topics on classical guitar, focusing on four main thematic axes: 1) Research in musical performance for guitar: the state of the art; 2) Discussion of technical/interpretative aspects of the guitar repertoire; 3) The guitar in a chamber music context: repertoires and contemporary issues; 4) The teaching of classical guitar at various levels and contexts: theoretical and pedagogical issues. This event led to elaborating the thematic dossier for this volume of Revista Diacrítica - Contexts, Practices and Repertoires for Classical Guitar: Perspectives and Current Research Topics, including nine representative international articles highlighting the vitality and interest surrounding the various approaches to Classical Guitar, contributing to knowledge in this specific area. This introduction to the volume also presents the articles included in the Varia section, which explore literary and cultural themes.
</abstract>
