Neste trabalho estudam-se as mudanças de uso do solo e os seus efeitos na paisagem num período de 30 anos, e operacionaliza-se o cálculo de um índice de valor paisagístico e de recreio baseado em atributos espaciais, como a acessibilidade, visibilidade e diversidade visual, e outras características intrínsecas das manchas que potenciam o recreio. Conclui-se que a área possui uma grande dinâmica de alteração caracterizada pela diminuição da área agrícola e da área de pinheiro bravo e pelo aumento da área de incultos e de folhosas diversas. O índice apresentado, tornou possível a discriminação de áreas com diferentes valores de recreio e paisagem, o que constitui informação indispensável a gestão táctica e estratégica da área. São identificadas e delimitadas zonas críticas em termos de gestão da paisagem, e sugeridas modificações. A metodologia utilizada é discutida em termos da sua adequação à determinação das consequências das mudanças e da sua utilização como ferramenta de apoio à tomada de decisão.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Changes in the Landscape Protected Area of Serra do Açor, occurred as a consequence of the interaction of environmental factors such as climate and geomorphology, with cultural social and economic driven forces. This work studied the extent of the changes in land use that occurred in the area during a thirty year period and proposes an operational way of computing an amenity index for the area, based on spatial attributes such as visibility, accessibility and visual diversity, and other intrinsic attributes of the different patches. We came to the conclusion that the studied area has high dynamics in what concerns land use changes. The main evidence is the fact that the area of broadleaved increased whereas the area of pine forests and agricultural areas decreased dramatically. That index, with a quantitative and spatial dimension, allowed the discrimination of areas with different recreation and landscape potential values, as well as the identification of the sensitive areas from the landscape point of view. Additionally it can be used in decision aid at tactical and strategic planning levels. The methodological aspects are discussed in terms of their ability to quantify landscape change and usefulness for management purposes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Des aspects sociaux, culturels et économiques, aussi bien que les facteurs environnementaux tels que le climat et la géomorphologie, ont produit une dynamique de changement du paysage de l'Aire Protégée "Serra do Açor", qui n’ont pas été évalués jusqu'à présent. Dans ce travail nous avons évalué les altérations dans l'utilisation du sol et leurs effets sur le paysage dans une période de 30 ans. Nous avons mis en marche, un indice de la valeur du paysage en fonction de leurs caractéristiques spatiales, telles que l'accessibilité, la visibilité et la diversité visuelle, ainsi que d'autres caractéristiques des aires étudiées avec un potentiel de loisir. Nous avons conclu que cette aire protégée possède une grande dynamique de changement, notamment en ce qui concerne la surface agricole et la surface du pin maritime, dont la diminution observée est notable. D'autre part, les surfaces sans aucune culture et de forêts de feuillus ont augmenté sensiblement. L'indice proposé permet une discrimination d'aires possédant diverses valeurs de recréation en ce qui concerne le paysage. Ces informations sont utiles en tant que critères ou indicateurs pour la planification et la gestion de cette aire protégée. Il a été possible d'identifier et de délimiter des aires critiques en ce qui concerne la gestion du paysage, pour lesquelles nous avons proposé des altérations.
