Sumário. Este artigo caracteriza o contexto macroeconómico da fileira da construção e do mobiliário, evidenciando a sua importância na economia nacional, a estrutura das empresas e do trabalho que lhe estão associados, assim como, para as diferentes fases do ciclo produtivo, as características dos correspondentes mercados interno e externo.
A análise insere-se num estudo mais abrangente sobre o modelo económico nas fileiras silvo-lenhosas e segue uma abordagem metodológica que efectua a análise dessas fileiras em função dos seus produtos finais (construção e mobiliário, embalagens; papel e cartão).
Este estudo pretende complementar a reflexão feita na Estratégia Nacional para as Florestas sobre o espaço florestal e as suas produções, integrando as fases subsequentes de transformação industrial até aos produtos finais, numa perspectiva de fileira.

Wood Construction and Furniture Sectors: Analysis of Context
Abstract. This paper focuses on the macroeconomic context of the wood construction and furniture sectors, showing their importance in the Portuguese national economy, the characteristics of the corresponding enterprises and workforce, as well as the main domestic and international market trends for the different phases of the productive cycle.
This analysis is part of a more comprehensive study for the development of an economic flow model for the forest and wood chains, where the analysis is performed separately for the chains of the different end products (construction and furniture, wrapping and packaging, paper and paperboard).

La Filière du Bâtiment et du Mobilier: Analyse de Contexte
Résumé. Cet article caractérise le contexte macro économique de la filière du bâtiment et du mobilier, soulignant son importance dans l'économie nationale, la structure des entreprises et du travail qui lui sont associés, ainsi qu'au niveau des différentes phases du cycle productif, les caractéristiques des marchés interne et externe correspondants.
Cette analyse fait partie d'une étude plus approfondie sur le modèle économique dans les filières sylvi-ligneuses et adopte une approche méthodologique qui effectue l'analyse de ces filières en fonction de ses produits finaux (construction et mobilier, emballages, papier et carton).
Cette étude prétend compléter la réflexion faite par la Stratégie Nationale pour les Forêts sur l'espace forestier et ses productions, en intégrant les phases subséquentes de la transformation industrielle jusqu'aux produits finaux, dans une perspective de filière.
