Recuperando alguns dos estudos portugueses que põem em destaque a diversidade de culturas das escolas e, simultaneamente, a força desse mundo dos significados na construção das práticas escolares, o texto procura situar e discutir as possibilidades da promoção de práticas de educação multicultural no sistema educativo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The present paper explores some of the relationships between the themes of multicultural education and school culture. By retrieving some of the portuguese studies highlighting the cultural diversity in schools and, simultaneously, the power of that world of meanings in the making of school practices, this text tries to locate and discuss how to pursue the multicultural practices in the portuguese educational institutions.]]></p></abstract>
