Os participantes são quatro mães cujos filhos têm idades compreendidas entre os quatro meses e os três anos de idade. Três das participantes eram primíparas e uma tinha já um filho. As mães foram contactadas na Maternidade Dr. Alfredo da Costa, tendo os dados sido recolhidos através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas. A análise dos dados foi feita através do método Grounded Theory e permitiu constatar que toda a situação de crise é vivenciada por etapas, as mães têm necessidade de separar a situação em fases, como o nascimento, a alta da mãe, o internamento do bebé, a alta da criança e a fase pós-alta da criança. Algumas categorias reveladoras da situação vivida pelas mães destas crianças no período pós-alta são a preocupação em relação ao desenvolvimento, vigilância permanente do desenvolvimento da criança e como consequência uma dependência entre a mãe e a criança.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The purpose of the present study is to build a theoretical model about parental behavior of mothers of children who have suffered from perinatal hypoxia. The participants are 4 mothers of children aged 4 months to 3 years old. Three of the participants were primiparous mothers. Mothers were contacted at Maternity ward. Data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews and analyzed according to the Grounded Theory. We found that all crisis is lived trough stages, mothers need to separate the birth, mothers discharge from the maternity ward, the child's' internment, and baby's discharge, and at home with the baby. Some categories from the after the child's discharge include mothers' concern about child development, vigilance of child development and as consequence mother and child dependence.]]></p></abstract>

Os participantes s&atilde;o quatro m&atilde;es cujos filhos t&ecirc;m      idades compreendidas entre os quatro meses e os tr&ecirc;s anos de idade.      Tr&ecirc;s das participantes eram prim&iacute;paras e uma tinha j&aacute;      um filho. As m&atilde;es foram contactadas na Maternidade Dr. Alfredo da Costa,      tendo os dados sido recolhidos atrav&eacute;s de entrevistas semi-estruturadas.      A an&aacute;lise dos dados foi feita atrav&eacute;s do m&eacute;todo Grounded      Theory e permitiu constatar que toda a situa&ccedil;&atilde;o de crise &eacute;      vivenciada por etapas, as m&atilde;es t&ecirc;m necessidade de separar a situa&ccedil;&atilde;o      em fases, como o nascimento, a alta da m&atilde;e, o internamento do beb&eacute;,      a alta da crian&ccedil;a e a fase p&oacute;s-alta da crian&ccedil;a.
