A bagana de carnaúba, um resíduo oriundo da extração da cera, possui grande potencial na formulação de substratos alternativos. Contudo, ainda não foram realizados estudos utilizando esse resíduo como matéria-prima na composição de substratos para a produção de mudas de bucha vegetal. Assim, a presente pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar o potencial de substratos compostos por diferentes misturas de solo e bagana de carnaúba na produção de mudas de bucha vegetal. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação sob delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com seis tratamentos (0, 20, 40, 60, 80 e 100% bagana de carnaúba, acrescido de solo) e quatro repetições. De acordo com os resultados obtidos foi possível constatar que a bagana de carnaúba, pode ser empregada como constituinte de substrato para produção de mudas de bucha vegetal. Entre as combinações testadas, a mistura constituída por 50% de bagana de carnaúba + 50% de solo foi a que apresentou maior potencial de utilização.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The formulation of alternative substrates using organic residues from agro-industrial/agricultural activities allows, in addition to reducing production costs, to reduce environmental impacts. Carnauba bagana, a residue from the extraction of wax, has great potential in the formulation of alternative substrates. However, studies using this residue as a raw material in the composition of substrates for the production of plant loofah seedlings have not yet been carried out. Thus, the present research aimed to evaluate the potential of substrates composed of different mixtures of soil and carnauba bagana in the production of plant loofah seedlings. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse under a completely randomized design, with six treatments (0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100% carnauba bagana, plus soil) and four replications. According to the results obtained, it was possible to verify that the carnauba bagana can be used as a constituent of substrate for the production of plant loofah seedlings. Among the combinations tested, the mixture consisting of 50% carnauba bagana + 50% soil showed the greatest potential for use.]]></p></abstract>
