A pouca informação disponível sobre este sistema de condução em amendoal, levou os autores a instalarem um ensaio para avaliarem diferentes alternativas de poda. O ensaio foi instalado num pomar de amendoeira da variedade Soleta plantado em setembro de 2014 na Herdade da Torre das Figueiras, Monforte, Portalegre (39º 04&#8217; N, 07º 29&#8217;W). Definiram-se os seguintes tratamentos: T0 (poda agricultor) - poda de verão + poda pós-colheita+ poda de inverno. Poda de verão com corte horizontal da copa e corte lateral em cada uma das faces, em 2018 e 2019. Poda mecânica pós-colheita com corte horizontal e cortes laterais em 2017. Poda de inverno com poda manual em 2018 e poda mecânica (corte horizontal da copa) seguida de complemento manual em 2017; T1- sem intervenções de poda em 2017 e poda manual inverno em 2018 e 2019; T2 - poda pós-colheita em 2017, 2018 e 2019; T3 - poda mecânica com corte horizontal e cortes laterais da copa no verão de 2018 e 2019 e em pós-colheita em 2017. Em 2018, foi realizada poda manual de inverno nos tratamentos podados mecanicamente. Em 2017, 2018 e 2019 monitorizou-se o tempo gasto nas operações de poda e colheu-se a amêndoa de cada linha, registando a massa de amêndoa e o tempo de trabalho. Verificaram-se diferenças significativas na produção de miolo entre os anos (2017-2019). Em 2018 verificaram-se diferenças significativas entre os tratamentos com o T0 a registar uma produção significativamente inferior às obtidas no tratamento T2. No entanto, na média dos 3 anos de produção, não se verificaram diferenças significativas entre os tratamentos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The success of the super high density (SHD) system on olive production has been extended to almond orchards, where it is necessary to ensure adequate canopy dimensions for over-the-row harvesting machines. In an almond orchard from Soleta cultivar planted in September 2014 at Herdade da Torre das Figueiras in Monforte, Portalegre, Portugal (39º 04&#8217; N, 07º 29&#8217;W), a trial to evaluate different pruning solutions was established. Four treatments (T0, T1, T2, T3) were compared: T0 (farmer pruning) - summer pruning (mechanical pruning in 2018 and 2019, post-harvest pruning (mechanical pruning in 2017) and winter pruning (manual pruning in 2018 and mechanical pruning followed by manual pruning in 2017); T1- no pruning interventions in 2017 and manual pruning in 2018 and 2019; T2 - involving post-harvest pruning (mechanical pruning in 2017, 2018 and 2019), and T3 - summer pruning (mechanical pruning in 2018 and 2019) and post-harvest pruning (mechanical pruning in 2017). In 2018, manual winter pruning was carried out in the treatments mechanically pruned. Significant differences were registered in harvested kernel almond yield between years (2017-2019). In 2018, there were significant differences between treatments, with T0 recording a significantly lower almond kernel production harvested than those obtained by T2. However, in the average of 3 years, there were no significant differences between treatments.]]></p></abstract>
