<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.pt/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0871-018X2023000500111&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.pt/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0871-018X2023000500111&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.pt/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0871-018X2023000500111&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo O eucalipto (Eucalyptus globulus Labill.) ocupa uma extensa área da exploração florestal em Portugal, sendo utilizado, principalmente, na indústria da produção de pasta e papel. De entre os desafios que a sua exploração enfrenta, contam-se os da necessidade de reduzir o uso de fertilizantes minerais, sem perda de produtividade, e preservando a fertilidade e a biodiversidade do solo. Sendo conhecidos os benefícios para o setor agrícola do uso de biofertilizantes, há interesse em avaliar o seu uso no setor florestal. Neste âmbito, foi estabelecido um ensaio com inóculos comerciais, um contendo um fungo formador de micorrizas arbusculares, Glomus iranicum, e outro baseado em bactérias solubilizadoras de fósforo inorgânico, Pseudomonas putida e P. fluorescens, individualmente e em conjunto, sendo avaliado o seu efeito no crescimento e fisiologia do eucalipto, em condições de adubação diferenciada de fósforo (100, 70 e 40% da adubação de referência para esse tipo de solo). Dez semanas de crescimento após transplante, observou-se um efeito significativo da inoculação bacteriana no índice relativo de clorofila (p&lt;0.05), sendo as plantas inoculadas com bactérias as que apresentaram maiores valores para esse parâmetro, enquanto a inoculação com fungos teve um efeito significativo no número de folhas nas plantas (p&lt;0.05), sendo as plantas micorrizadas as que apresentaram um menor número de folhas. Estes resultados preliminares são promissores, mas o estudo prossegue, de modo a avaliar o comportamento do eucalipto em situações de necessidades crescentes de fósforo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus Labill.) occupies an extensive area of forest in Portugal, being used mainly in the pulp and paper industry. Among the challenges faced by its production, is the need to reduce the use of mineral fertilizers, without loss of productivity, and preserving soil fertility and biodiversity. As the benefits of using biofertilizers for the agricultural sector are known, there is interest in evaluating their use in the forestry sector. Within its scope, an experiment was established with commercial inoculants, one containing the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Glomus iranicum, and another based on inorganic phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria, Pseudomonas putida and P. fluorescens, individually and in combination. Their effect on growth and physiology of eucalyptus, under conditions of differentiated phosphorus fertilization (100, 70 and 40% of the reference fertilization for this type of soil) was evaluated. Ten weeks of growth after transplantation, there was a significant effect of bacterial inoculation on the relative chlorophyll index (p&lt;0.05), with the plants inoculated with bacteria having the highest values for this parameter, while inoculation with fungi had an effect significant in the number of leaves on the plants (p&lt;0.05), with the mycorrhizal plants having the lower number of leaves. These preliminary results are promising, but the study continues, in order to evaluate the behavior of eucalyptus in situations of increasing phosphorus needs.]]></p></abstract>
