Para tal, através da Confederação Nacional das Associações de Pais (CONFAP), enviamos um inquérito por questionário destinado aos pais que exerciam funções nesse órgão, constituído por 28 itens, posteriormente categorizados em seis dimensões: participação, deliberação, focalização, divulgação, relevância e relação entre pais e diretor. O questionário foi administrado on-line, entre 18 de dezembro de 2017 e 26 de janeiro de 2018 e recolhidas 213 respostas válidas. Os resultados foram tratados com recurso a estatística descritiva e inferencial, apurando-se a frequência, a média, desvio-padrão e análise de relações entre variáveis dependentes e independentes. Como principais conclusões retêm-se as que se relacionam com uma expressiva dispersão de resultados evidenciando uma visão heterogénea sobre as funções e relevância estratégica do CGE, o reconhecimento do condicionamento dos poderes externos (sediados no Ministério da Educação) e internos adstritos ao poder cognoscitivo dos professores e do diretor, uma sobrevalorização simbólica do órgão que não corresponderá à ação concreta, e uma visão restrita de comunidade educativa onde não cabem a autarquia e os alunos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract What do parents think about the role of the General Council of schools, what value do they give it as a &#8220;strategic management&#8221; organ, how do they get involved and consider themselves in the role they play there, these are the key issues to which we&#8217;d like to answer. To do so, we sent a survey by questionnaire to parents who had a place in this organ, which was composed by 28 items categorized later into six dimensions: participation, deliberation, focus, dissemination, importance and relationship between parents and the school director. The questionnaire was sent to be answered through a link between December 18 and January 26, 2018 and 213 valid answers were collected. The questionnaire results were processed by using a descriptive statistics method to get the frequency, mean and standard deviation and analysis of relations between variables. As main conclusions, we emphasize those related to a significant dispersal of results which demonstrate an heterogeneous view about the roles of its members and the strategic importance of the General Council, the recognition of the conditioning of the external forces (placed in the Education Ministry) and the internal forces related to the cognitive power of the teachers and the director, a symbolic overvaluation of this organ which will not correspond to its concrete action and a limited view of the educational community where there&#8217;s no place either for the local council or the students.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Cómo ven los padres el papel del Consejo General de las Escuelas, qué valor le atribuyen como órgano de "dirección estratégica", cómo se inscriben y se manifiestan en la acción que allí desarrollan son las cuestiones clave a las que hemos querido responder. Para ello, con la colaboración de la Confederación Nacional de las Asociaciones de Padres (CONFAP), enviamos una encuesta por cuestionario dirigida a los padres que ejercían funciones en ese órgano. El cuestionario constaba de 28 ítems, posteriormente categorizados en 6 dimensiones: participación, deliberación, focalización, divulgación, relevancia y relación entre padres y director. El cuestionario se administró on-line y fue respondido entre el 18 de diciembre y el 26 de enero de 2018, recogiéndose 213 respuestas válidas. Los resultados se trataron mediante una estadística descriptiva, calculando la frecuencia, la media y la desviación estándar y análisis de relaciones entre variables. Las principales conclusiones se relacionan con una significativa dispersión de resultados, evidenciando una visión heterogénea de las funciones y la relevancia estratégica del consejo general, el reconocimiento del condicionamiento de los poderes externos (localizados en el Ministerio de Educación) e internos, al poder cognitivo de los profesores y del director, una sobrevalorización simbólica del órgano que no se corresponde con la acción concreta, y una visión restringida de la comunidad educativa donde no caben la autarquía municipal y los alumnos.]]></p></abstract>
