Com base nesse pressuposto, objetivou-se apresentar uma caracterização geográfica, administrativa e pedagógica dos cursos de medicina do Brasil e, em particular, do estado de São Paulo, identificando como a temática gestão em saúde é trabalhada nesses cursos, bem como compreender a experiência de docentes da saúde relativamente à expressão da gestão em saúde, em um currículo médico. Trata-se de uma pesquisa quanti-qualitativa. Este artigo apresenta os resultados de duas das fases quantitativas e de parte da fase qualitativa da qual participaram 38 docentes de uma instituição pertencente à rede de ensino superior municipal. Observou-se a prevalência da entidade administrativa privada e do regime letivo semestral, nos cursos analisados. Não foi possível afirmar categoricamente que temáticas relacionadas com a gestão em saúde sejam efetivamente abordadas, nas graduações em medicina do estado de São Paulo. Todavia, os docentes participantes deste estudo reconhecem o valor dos conteúdos conceituais, procedimentais e atitudinais da gestão em saúde na formação inicial do médico. Conclui-se que é preciso equacionar as relações entre as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para a graduação em medicina do Brasil e a prática pedagógica, a intencionalidade administrativa e as perspectivas de formação dos gestores da educação médica, indicando os passos a serem seguidos para a concepção e a execução de currículos estruturados, no eixo da gestão em saúde.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT In Brazil, there is a significant representativeness of doctors in institutional administrative positions, however, some of them work without general or specific knowledge of public administration bases and health management. Based on this assumption, the objective was to present a geographical, administrative and pedagogical characterization of medical courses in Brazil and, in particular, in the state of São Paulo, identifying how the theme of health management is worked on in these courses, as well as understanding the experience of health professors regarding the expression of health management in a medical curriculum. It is a quantitative and qualitative research. This article presents the results of two of the quantitative phases and a part of the qualitative phase, in which 38 teachers from an institution belonging to the municipal higher education network participated. The prevalence of the private administrative entity and the semester school regime was observed in the analyzed courses. It was not possible to categorically state that themes related to health management are effectively addressed in medical degrees in the state of São Paulo. However, theachers professors who participated in this study recognize the value of conceptual, procedural and attitudinal contents of health management in the initial training of doctors. It is concluded that it is necessary to consider the relation between the National Curriculum Guidelines for undergraduate Medicine in Brazil and the pedagogical practice, the administrative intentionality and the training perspectives of medical education managers, indicating the steps to be followed for the design and the execution of structured curriculum, in the area of health management.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN En Brasil, existe una representatividad significativa de médicos en cargos administrativos institucionales, sin embargo, algunos trabajan sin un conocimiento general y específico de las bases de la administración pública y de la gestión en salud. El objetivo del trabajo fue presentar una caracterización geográfica, administrativa y pedagógica de los cursos de medicina en Brasil y, en particular, en el estado de São Paulo, identificando cómo se trabaja el tema de la gestión en salud en estos cursos, así como comprender la experiencia de los profesores de salud en cuanto a la expresión de la gestión en salud en un currículo médico. Esa es una investigación cuantitativa y cualitativa. El artículo presenta los resultados de dos de las fases cuantitativas y de parte de la fase cualitativa, en la que participaron 38 docentes de una institución perteneciente a la red municipal de educación superior. En los cursos analizados se observó la prevalencia de la entidad administrativa privada y el régimen escolar semestral. No fue posible afirmar categóricamente que los temas relacionados con la gestión en salud son abordados de manera efectiva en las carreras de medicina del estado de São Paulo. Todavía, los profesores participantes en este estudio reconocen el valor de los contenidos conceptuales, procedimentales y actitudinales de la gestión en salud en la formación inicial de los médicos. Se concluye que es necesario considerar las relaciones entre las Directrices Curriculares Nacionales para el grado de medicina en Brasil y la práctica pedagógica, la intencionalidad administrativa y las perspectivas de formación de los gerentes de educación médica, indicando los pasos a seguir para el diseño y la ejecución de currículos estructurados, en el ámbito de la gestión en salud.]]></p></abstract>
