En el ámbito educativo, muchos países han implementado teletrabajo y teleducación, lo que ha generado situaciones de estrés y sobrecarga laboral por el traspaso y modificación de las tareas. Este estudio analiza las condiciones de salud mental y la percepción de carga mental de trabajo en 311 funcionarios, docentes y no docentes, de 9 establecimientos chilenos, 246 mujeres y 65 hombres. Se aplicaron dos instrumentos, la escala Depresión-ansiedad-estrés (DASS 21) y la Escala subjetiva de carga mental de trabajo (ESCAM), analizándose los datos de forma descriptiva y correlacional. Los resultados muestran respecto de salud mental, niveles medio en estrés, así como bajos en depresión y ansiedad; mientras que en carga mental de trabajo se observa una percepción medianamente alta en las dimensiones demanda cognitiva, características de la tarea y organización de tiempo, mientras que una percepción media en las dimensiones ritmo de trabajo y consecuencias para la salud; se encontraron además, correlaciones positivas, significativas y medianamente altas entre la dimensión consecuencias para la salud, de la escala de carga mental de trabajo y las dimensiones de estrés, depresión y ansiedad; además de diferencias significativas entre grupos según género y labor realizada. Se concluye que las modificaciones obligatorias debido a la pandemia han afectado a los funcionarios en su salud mental y la precepción de carga de sus actividades, aumentando el estrés negativo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The current COVID-19 pandemic has generated a great impact on countries and people, modifying mainly labor and educational processes and actions. In the educational field, many countries have implemented teleworking and tele-education, which has generated stressful situations and work overload due to the transfer and modification of traditional tasks. This study analyzes the mental health conditions and the perception of mental workload in 311 civil officials, teachers and non-teachers, from 9 Chilean establishments, 246 women and 65 men. Two instruments were applied, the Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale (DASS 21) and the Subjective Mental Workload Scale (ESCAM), analyzing the data in a descriptive and correlational way. The results show, regarding mental health, average levels in stress, as well as low in depression and anxiety; while in mental workload a moderately high perception is observed in the dimensions of cognitive demand, characteristics of the task and organization of time, while a medium perception is observed in the dimensions of work rhythm and consequences for health; furthermore, positive, significant and moderately high correlations were found between the health consequences dimension of the mental workload scale and the dimensions of stress, depression and anxiety; in addition to significant differences between groups according to gender and work carried out. It is concluded that the mandatory modifications due to the pandemic have affected officials in their mental health and the perception of the burden of their activities, increasing negative stress.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo A atual pandemia de COVID-19 tem gerado grande impacto em países e pessoas, modificando principalmente processos e ações laborais e educacionais. No campo educacional, muitos países têm implementado o teletrabalho e a teleducação, o que tem gerado situações de stress e sobrecarga de trabalho devido à transferência e modificação de tarefas. Este estudo analisa as condições de saúde mental e a percepção da carga mental de trabalho em 311 funcionários públicos, professores e não professores, de 9 estabelecimentos chilenos, 246 mulheres e 65 homens. Foram aplicados dois instrumentos, a Escala de Depressão-Ansiedade-Stress (DASS 21) e a Escala de Carga Mental Subjetiva (ESCAM), analisando os dados de forma descritiva e correlacional. Os resultados mostram, em relação à saúde mental, níveis médios de stress, bem como baixos de depressão e ansiedade, enquanto que na carga de trabalho mental observa-se uma percepção moderadamente alta nas dimensões de demanda cognitiva, características da tarefa e organização do tempo, e uma percepção média nas dimensões ritmo de trabalho e consequências para a saúde. Além disso, foram encontradas correlações positivas, significativas e moderadamente altas entre a dimensão consequências para a saúde da escala de carga de trabalho mental e as dimensões stress, depressão e ansiedade, para além de diferenças significativas entre os grupos de acordo com o género e os trabalhos realizados. Conclui-se que as modificações obrigatórias em decorrência da pandemia afetaram os funcionários na sua saúde mental e na percepção do peso das suas atividades, aumentando o stress negativo.]]></p></abstract>
