Lo anterior por el panorama tecnológico y semiótico en expansión y la tendencia a entender la comunicación desde un enfoque multimodal. En este marco, esta investigación describe el uso y funciones de los recursos semióticos de los textos que habitualmente escriben estudiantes universitarios del área de la salud. Se aplicó un cuestionario a una muestra estratificada de 255 estudiantes de 8 carreras de las ciencias de la salud. Tras el análisis estadístico descriptivo, los resultados muestran que existen diferencias disciplinares en el uso y función, en otras palabras, el uso de recursos semióticos varia dependiendo de la carrera que se estudia, lo que constituye un desafío para la enseñanza de la escritura desde un punto de vista multimodal.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The current cultural and historical context has highlighted the need to consider the development of writing in university students from a multimodal approach. The first is due to the expanding technological and semiotic landscape and the tendency to understand communication from a multimodal approach. Within this framework, this research describes the use and functions of the semiotic resources of the texts that university students in the health area usually write. A questionnaire was applied to a stratified sample of 255 students from 8 health sciences careers. After the descriptive statistical analysis, the results show that there are disciplinary differences in the use and function, that is, the use of semiotic resources varies according to the career being studied, which constitutes a challenge for the teaching of writing from a multimodal view.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo O atual contexto cultural e histórico tem evidenciado a necessidade de se pensar o desenvolvimento da escrita nos estudantes universitários a partir de uma abordagem multimodal. Tal facto deve-se ao cenário tecnológico e semiótico em expansão e à tendência de compreender a comunicação a partir de uma abordagem multimodal. Nesse quadro, esta pesquisa descreve o uso e as funções dos recursos semióticos dos textos que estudantes universitários da área da saúde costumam escrever. Aplicou-se um questionário a uma amostra estratificada de 255 alunos de 8 carreiras da área da saúde. Após a análise estatística descritiva, os resultados mostram que existem diferenças disciplinares no uso e na função, ou seja, o uso dos recursos semióticos varia de acordo com a carreira em que se estuda, o que se constitui em um desafio para o ensino da escrita a partir de uma visão multimodal.]]></p></abstract>
