A era tecnológica veio revolucionar os comportamentos da população, em particular das crianças e jovens, e dar espaço à era do m-learning, especificamente no que concerne ao uso dos telemóveis como uma ferramenta disponível para apoiar as aprendizagens. Por estes motivos, o desenvolvimento deste estudo objetivava identificar as funcionalidades dos telemóveis utilizadas pelos docentes portugueses e conhecer as suas perceções quanto à integração destes equipamentos em contextos formais de aprendizagem. A aplicação, análise e tratamento estatístico dos dados recolhidos, por meio de um questionário a 443 docentes do norte de Portugal, permitiram perceber que os docentes estão recetivos à integração dos telemóveis nas suas aulas, mas apontam várias barreiras como justificativa para os manter excluídos dessas dinâmicas. Nesta análise foi possível constatar que as ações que os docentes utilizam nos seus telemóveis são destinadas essencialmente para usos pessoais, não se registando um aproveitamento expressivo das suas potencialidades na vertente profissional. A destreza na utilização pessoal destes equipamentos por parte dos participantes no estudo revelou-se importante na forma como os docentes perspetivavam oportunidades de os incluir nas práticas profissionais.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT School, as a structuring institution of our society, is influenced by the changes that society itself experiences and to which it must keep up with. The technological era has revolutionized the behavior of the population, particularly of children and young people, and has given way to an m-learning era, specifically regarding the use of cell phones as an available tool to support learning. In this context, the development of this study aimed to identify characteristics of cell phones used by Portuguese teachers and to realize their perceptions regarding the integration of these devices in formal learning contexts. The application, analysis and statistical treatment of the data collected through a questionnaire to 443 teachers in northern Portugal, provided us evidence that teachers are receptive to the integration of cell phones in their classes, but also point to several barriers as justification to keep them excluded from these dynamics. Through this analysis it was possible to state that teachers use their cell phones essentially for personal use, with no significant use of their potential in the professional area. Skills in the personal use of this equipment by the participants in the study proved to be important in the way teachers envisioned opportunities to include them in professional practices.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé L'école, en tant qu'institution structurante de notre société, est influencée par les changements que la société elle-même connaît et que l'école doit impérativement suivre. L'ère technologique a révolutionné le comportement de la population, en particulier des enfants et des jeunes, et a cédé la place à l'ère du m-learning, notamment en ce qui concerne l'utilisation des téléphones portables comme outil disponible pour soutenir l'apprentissage. Pour ces raisons, le développement de cette étude visait à identifier les fonctionnalités des téléphones portables utilisés par les enseignants portugais et à connaître leurs perceptions concernant l'intégration de ces appareils dans des contextes d'apprentissage formels. L'application, l'analyse et le traitement statistique des données recueillies par le biais d'un questionnaire adressé à 443 enseignants du nord du Portugal nous ont permis de comprendre que les enseignants sont réceptifs à l'intégration des téléphones portables dans leurs classes, mais signalent plusieurs obstacles pour justifier son exclusion de ces dynamiques. Dans cette analyse, il a été possible de vérifier que les actions que les enseignants utilisent sur leurs téléphones portables sont essentiellement destinées à un usage personnel, n'enregistrant pas une utilisation expressive de leur potentiel dans le domaine professionnel. La dextérité dans l'utilisation personnelle de ces équipements par les participants à l'étude s'est avérée importante dans la manière dont les enseignants envisageaient les opportunités de les intégrer dans les pratiques professionnelles.]]></p></abstract>
